The begins research on internet 6G, the successor of 5G

Chinese giant Huawei has begun research on 6G in laboratories in Ottawa, Canada, in a project with the collaboration of 13 universities and research institutes. While the 5G network adoption process is still crawling around the world and is lagging behind in Brazil, the leading telephony infrastructure company has been investigating the implementation and applications of the future data network standard that, according to estimates, should only reach the consumer. in 2030.

In addition to Huawei, LG and Samsung are also working around sixth generation networks.

Huawei's studies even precede the setting of a new standard that guides the direction of what new sixth generation networks could mean in terms of speeds and connectivity. Although it seems very early, the practice is not uncommon: Huawei itself began analyzing 5G networks in 2009, well before the publication of the 5G technology standard in 2018.

As the process is anticipated, there is still no prospect of what a 6G network might achieve in terms of performance. What is possible is to draw comparisons with the leap that the 5G promises over the 4G: connection speeds between 50 to 100 times higher, and the guarantee of low latency.
