Telegram creates animated stickers that consume less data and memory
Telegram launched a new feature on the 6th that should make the conversations more fun: more economical animated stickers. In addition to the static images that we are accustomed to, it will now be possible to send motion pictures spending less data and memory.
The application development team used vector graphics in addition to other techniques to create Lottie-based TGS animated stickers that occupy about 20 to 30 kilobytes - which is six times smaller than a photo, on average.
Animated stickers consume less battery than GiFs and can run at a speed of 60 frames per second. "If an image is worth a thousand words, there are 180,000 words per sticker," the application points out. As an open platform it is possible for artists to create animated stickers and insert into the application by sending them to @stickers.
